
Banana Bread Warm Smoothie
Perfect for cool fall and winter days and containing no processed sugar, salt, oil, gluten or eggs, this warm drink brings back memories of cooking banana bread with mom.
Warming for the body and soul!
ingredients:
1 cup hot water (we use just shy of boiling)
1 ripe banana
1/4 cup walnut pieces or chopped walnuts
4 deglet dates
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
1/8 tsp ground nutmeg
1/8 tsp ground ginger
dash of ground cloves
Optional: - 1 tsp ground flax seeds
Method:
In a blender, blend all ingredients for about 30 seconds on highest setting. Add more water to thin or more banana or walnuts to thicken. (If using glass blender, be sure it is at room temperature to avoid breaking)
Serve warm with straw or spoon.
